CUNG began with a simple idea: that Vietnamese and Thai cooking, done properly, doesn't need noise to make an impression. The name means "together" — the two cuisines sharing one kitchen, one philosophy, one unhurried room in Budapest.
Our broths simmer for hours before service. Herbs are cut to order, never prepared ahead. Curry pastes are pounded, not jarred. It's slower this way, and we've never found a reason to change it — the difference shows up in the bowl, not the ticket time.
The dining room follows the same instinct: warm timber, soft stone, linen napkins, low light. Nothing shouts. Everything is considered, the way good hospitality always has been in Hanoi, in Bangkok, and now here.
"Slow broth, steady hands, quiet room." — The CUNG kitchen
Why Choose CUNG
Not shortcuts dressed up as tradition — the real thing, made the way it's meant to be made, served in a room built to slow you down.
Herbs cut daily, produce sourced with care, nothing frozen that shouldn't be — freshness you can taste in the first spoonful.
Family methods from Vietnam and Thailand, followed without shortcuts — the same way they've always been made.
Cocktails and fresh homemade beverages built to order, balancing sweet, sour, and bitter the Southeast Asian way.
Wood, stone, and soft lighting — a dining room designed for conversation, not for showing off.
Kitchen leadership trained across Vietnamese and Thai households, bringing decades of technique to every dish.
A neighbourhood favourite built one properly-simmered bowl and one quiet evening at a time.
Handcrafted Drinks
Our bar treats fruit, herbs, and spice with the same care as the kitchen — four ways we bring Southeast Asia into the glass.

Guest Reviews
"The pho tastes like it was made by someone who actually cares. Twelve-hour broth, real herbs — closest to Hanoi I've had in Europe."
"Massaman curry was rich without being heavy, and the room itself felt like a quiet escape from the city outside."
"We came for a date night and stayed for two hours. The pandan fizz alone is worth the trip back."
"Tom Yum had the right amount of heat and sour — sharp, balanced, nothing dulled down for a European palate."
"Quiet, elegant, and the summer rolls were perfect. A proper find near the river — we'll be regulars."
