Named for the Stream
That Runs Through It
"Dereiçi" means the inside of the stream — and that's exactly where we sit. Long before there was a kitchen here, there was spring water running down from the hills above Kurtköy, cold enough to keep trout for the table without a single freezer. The restaurant grew up around that water, table by table, bridge by bridge.
Today the same family still runs the grill and still ties the trout nets by hand each morning. Guests cross wooden footbridges to reach their table, order çay that's poured from a real semaver, and stay long after the plates are cleared — because the sound of the stream doesn't ask anyone to hurry.
