Yalova, Turkey · Garden Life
Handmade pasta, stone-oven pizza and a curated Italian wine list, served beneath olive trees on a private garden terrace. GL Ristorante is fine dining slowed down to the pace of a proper Italian evening.
Tonight's Table
The Garden AwaitsOur Story
GL Ristorante began with a garden — a quiet plot along the Yalova coast, planted with olive and citrus, long before a single table was set. The kitchen came after, built around what the garden and the Italian pantry could offer together: proper durum flour, San Marzano tomatoes, cold-pressed olive oil, and the patience to let a sauce reduce properly.
Every table sits under the trees or beneath the pergola, and every dish is made the way it would be in a family kitchen in Emilia-Romagna or Campania — pasta rolled by hand, dough proofed slowly, pizza fired in a real stone oven. Nothing is rushed here, including the coffee at the end.
"We built the garden first, so the kitchen would have something worth cooking with." — The GL Ristorante Kitchen
Why Guests Choose GL
Not a fusion menu chasing trends — proper Italian cooking, grown in and served from our own garden in Yalova.
Rolled, cut and shaped by hand each morning — tagliatelle, ravioli and gnocchi made to order, not from a bag.
Wood-fired at high heat in a hand-built stone oven, blistered crust and all — the way pizza is meant to taste.
Small-producer bottles from Piedmont, Tuscany and Sicily, chosen to pair with the season's menu.
Basil, rosemary and citrus grown steps from the kitchen, picked the same day they land on your plate.
Lantern-lit tables beneath the trees, quiet corners for two, and service paced for lingering, not turning tables.
Long tables built for sharing platters, children welcome, and a slow, generous Sunday lunch tradition.
The Garden
Our garden isn't a patio bolted onto a dining room — it's the reason GL Ristorante exists. Every table outside is set beneath olive branches, citrus and climbing vine, with the pace of the evening set by the light, not the clock.
Italian Philosophy
A few of the principles behind every plate — nothing here is a shortcut, and nothing is reinvented for the sake of it.
Our pasta is rolled and cut by hand each service, in small batches timed to the evening's covers.
Herbs, citrus and vegetables grown in our own garden dictate the menu — not the other way around.
Flour, tomato, cheese and wine sourced directly from small Italian producers rather than local substitutes.
Easy to reach along the coast road, with comfortable garden and indoor seating for any weather.
A fuller garden after church hours, with extra sharing platters and an unhurried, three-hour pace.

"Pizza crust was excellent, real stone-oven char. Slightly slow on a busy Saturday, but worth the wait for the setting."
"Brought my parents for Sunday lunch and nobody wanted to leave. The tiramisu is the real thing, not the supermarket version."
"Genuinely feels like a small trattoria transplanted from Italy — down to the garden and the unrushed pace of the evening."
