The Garden Awaits

Our Story

A Garden First,
A Ristorante Second

GL Ristorante began with a garden — a quiet plot along the Yalova coast, planted with olive and citrus, long before a single table was set. The kitchen came after, built around what the garden and the Italian pantry could offer together: proper durum flour, San Marzano tomatoes, cold-pressed olive oil, and the patience to let a sauce reduce properly.

Every table sits under the trees or beneath the pergola, and every dish is made the way it would be in a family kitchen in Emilia-Romagna or Campania — pasta rolled by hand, dough proofed slowly, pizza fired in a real stone oven. Nothing is rushed here, including the coffee at the end.

"We built the garden first, so the kitchen would have something worth cooking with." — The GL Ristorante Kitchen

Why Guests Choose GL

Authentic Cuisine,
An Unhurried Garden Setting

Not a fusion menu chasing trends — proper Italian cooking, grown in and served from our own garden in Yalova.

Handmade Pasta, Daily

Rolled, cut and shaped by hand each morning — tagliatelle, ravioli and gnocchi made to order, not from a bag.

Real Stone-Oven Pizza

Wood-fired at high heat in a hand-built stone oven, blistered crust and all — the way pizza is meant to taste.

Curated Italian Wine List

Small-producer bottles from Piedmont, Tuscany and Sicily, chosen to pair with the season's menu.

Garden-Grown Herbs

Basil, rosemary and citrus grown steps from the kitchen, picked the same day they land on your plate.

Romantic Evenings

Lantern-lit tables beneath the trees, quiet corners for two, and service paced for lingering, not turning tables.

Family & Sunday Lunch

Long tables built for sharing platters, children welcome, and a slow, generous Sunday lunch tradition.

The Garden

Dinner Is Better
Under the Trees

Our garden isn't a patio bolted onto a dining room — it's the reason GL Ristorante exists. Every table outside is set beneath olive branches, citrus and climbing vine, with the pace of the evening set by the light, not the clock.

Beneath the Olive Trees
Our oldest tables, shaded by mature olive trees planted when the garden was first laid out — cool even in the height of summer.
The Pergola
A vine-covered pergola for parties of six or more, strung with warm light for evenings that run long.
Golden Hour Terrace
Open-air seating facing west — the most requested tables in the house as the sun drops over Yalova.
Private Garden Events
The full garden can be reserved for engagements, anniversaries and family celebrations — ask us about seasonal availability.

Italian Philosophy

Handmade, Fresh, Traditional

A few of the principles behind every plate — nothing here is a shortcut, and nothing is reinvented for the sake of it.

Fresh pasta being rolled by hand

Handmade, Not Machine-Cut

Our pasta is rolled and cut by hand each service, in small batches timed to the evening's covers.

Every Service
