Tarkhun opened its doors as a promise to guests missing the unhurried rituals of a Persian table — a full breakfast spread shared slowly, tea poured again and again, and conversation that never feels rushed toward the bill.
The name comes from tarragon, the fragrant herb that finds its way into Persian and Azerbaijani kitchens alike — a small, quiet detail with a lot of character, much like the room itself. Our kitchen moves through the day the way a Persian household does: breakfast first, then saffron and smoke, then tea, then hookah, then football on the screen and backgammon on the table.
"Sit down. There is always more tea." — The Tarkhun welcome
Why Guests Love Tarkhun
Not a restaurant you visit once for one thing — a room guests return to for breakfast, for kebab, for tea, and for the nights that run long.
A slow morning spread of cheeses, herbs, jams, and warm bread, the way it's served across the Caucasus and Iran.
Saffron rice, slow-grilled kebabs, and stews simmered the way they're made at home — nothing rushed, nothing shortcut.
Black tea in slender glasses, rock candy on the side, poured as many times as the conversation runs.
Premium flavours and comfortable seating for evenings that aren't in any hurry to end.
Backgammon boards on the tables and the match on the screen — the room fills up fast on derby nights.
A neighbourhood favourite built one shared breakfast and one long tea session at a time.
Tea & Coffee
Tea is not an afterthought here — it's most of the reason people stay. Four ways our tea house keeps a table full long after the last plate is cleared.
Hookah Lounge & Game Nights
Backgammon on the tables, football on the screen, and premium hookah flavours drifting through an unhurried room.
Curated flavours and comfortable low seating, best enjoyed with a pot of tea beside it.
Big screens, a full room, and mezze plates moving fast — our busiest nights of the week.
Boards are always on hand — pull one up with your tea and settle in for the evening.
Street-side tables for people-watching in Beyoğlu, weather permitting, day or night.
Kitchen and tea service run late — perfect for the after-show, after-work Taksim crowd.
