Our Story

A Passion for Wine
and Hungarian Hospitality

Winestone Budapest was born from a simple belief: that extraordinary wine deserves equally extraordinary food. Housed within the historic Hotel Korona, our restaurant brings together the best of Hungarian culinary tradition and contemporary European technique.

Every dish on our menu is designed with a wine pairing in mind. Our cellar, curated over decades, spans the great wine regions of Hungary — from the volcanic slopes of Tokaj to the limestone-rich soils of Villány — alongside iconic bottles from France, Italy, and beyond.

"A great meal without wine is a symphony missing its crescendo." — The Winestone Philosophy

Chef Philosophy

Ingredient-Driven,
Wine-Focused

Our kitchen is guided by the seasons and the soil. We work with small Hungarian producers, foragers, and winemakers to create dishes that honour the land. Every plate is a conversation between the kitchen and the cellar — balanced, thoughtful, and never forced.

From dry-aged Mangalica pork to freshwater fish from Lake Balaton, our ingredients are sourced within hours of Budapest. The result is a menu that feels both deeply rooted and refreshingly modern.
